Animal keeping

Our cattle roam free in a large pasture, as soon as the snow has melted away. They graze and browse on the grass and in the adjacent forest and are fed additional hay from our own fields. The water is supplied by the “Eva-Quelle”, an on-site spring that supports both the herd and the farmhouse.

In addition the the approximately 40 cattle, there are 3 horses (one Arabian horse and two warmbloods) and, sadly, only 2 dogs. The third and 'youngest', 17-year-old “Herr Josef”, a well-trained Serbian hound, had to be put to sleep recently. The other two, Caruso and Alia, are an inseparable pair.
